Putting the sink under the window is still the best decision available in most kitchen layouts, and an apron front sink makes a feature of it. The trade off is that the cabinet beneath has to be built for it, which is a modification rather than a stock item.
The marble subway backsplash carried up behind the range keeps the room bright without leaving it plain. Running the same tile everywhere rather than switching material at the range is a quieter choice and generally the one that ages better.
A duck egg island against a white perimeter gives the room a centre of gravity with very little effort. Where the colour is this soft, you can commit to it on the island alone and leave the rest of the kitchen neutral.
Glass and brass caged pendants finish it. Warm metal against cool white is a reliable pairing and it picks up the hardware without matching it exactly.
